Being Chris Hani's Daughter

By:Lindiwe Hani and Melinda Fegurson There is certainly no denying that Chris Hani is one of the most prominent public figures in South African history. In this book his beloved daughter gives us an insight on her journey with love, loss, addiction and motherhood. Lindiwe had a relatively happy childhood, even though she missed the physical presence of her father. She also gives interesting insights into her father's parenting skills. Her father's murder is told right from the beginning which makes for a great anti-climax. She deals with the loss of her sister Khwezi which she believes is because of drugs but that doesn't stop her into doing cocaine either. Lindiwe is brutally honest on how difficult it is being the daughter of a public figure. She uses some much needed humour to carry the reader through the heaviness of her life story. I admire her bravery for dealing with her cocaine addiction and for meeting her father's killers,Derby-Lewis and Januz Walus. ...

My review of Buns Out

It was my first time going to Buns Out in Rosebank on Saturday and may I tell you proudly that the food is magnificent. The restaurant has a mellow, chilled vibe which I think is appilicable to all ages. The service is amazing and the infrastructure is beautiful. The only con is you will struggle to find parking and may have to walk to the restaurant. You also need to be a big fan of burgers as it is the only food item on the menu and there is no variety on the dessert menu. However if you are looking for a good chill spot to go to with your family and friends I recommend this restaurant.

The Blessed Girl

What a great read! This book takes you on an emotional rollercoaster of Bontle Tau's life. It is fictional but Makholwa manages to give a realistic feel of the so called 'blessed' life. The book displays how anyone's life can fall apart and what we aspire for on social media is not what happens behind the scenes. I give this book a 5/5,once you get it you won't be able to put it down.

My Prom,21 October 2020.

They day finally came, the day of my prom! I remember being so nervous and in the moment. I had so much to do and time was catching up on me.  Keyword:TIME that is what defines you on that day. Walking through the red carpet while everyone is chanting your name is thrilling. By the end of the night we all had our heels off, dozens of pictures were taken and we danced our butts off. I will remember that night forever.  These are my tips on how you should get ready for your prom: 1. Have an allocated budget and plan everything revolving around your budget. 2. Do not put yourself under unecessary pressure you don't need the most expensive dress, shoes or car to look good or be memorable. 3. Plan everything way in advance,if you are getting your dress/suit designed make sure you start your arrangements 6 months in advance. 4.Be open to trying new things, like that set idea you have of your dress but there may be something better out there. 5. Go for fittings two weeks before the even...
